The beautiful carnation surrounded by leaves featured on this mat is inspired by an Arts and Crafts wallpaper held in the V&A’s archives, designed by William Morris. It was originally created in 1895–6 for Compton Hall in Wolverhampton, England, the home of Laurence Hodson, and it was probably the result of a joint effort between William Morris (1834–96) and his assistant J.H. Dearle (1859–1932).
This delightful mat is designed and crafted to be stylish and functional. Made from the best quality all-natural coir fiber, and hand stenciled with eco-friendly dyes for long-lasting vibrancy.
