Arabella Huntington had a keen eye for art; she was one of the most important art collectors of her generation. She also had poor vision and proudly wore a pair of pince-nez spectacles. When having portraits done, she insisted that the glasses be included. She wanted her portrait to be truthful, like the portraits of men.
