In 1879, Elias Jackson “Lucky” Baldwin, owner of the Santa Anita Ranchero, California,  imported several pairs of peacocks from India.  They were a fitting addition to the Santa Anita Ranch as it was fashionable for the well-to-do to put unique animals on their property.

Today, peacocks still roam freely around the area, and are even the mascot for the city of Arcadia!
Celebrate this majestic, now somewhat local bird with this beautifully colorful, super soft peacock scarf.
