The intricate Strawberry Thief textile pattern of mischievous birds was one of William Morris’ (1834–96) most iconic works of the 19th century. Morris based this beautiful design on the thrushes he saw stealing strawberries from the grounds of his Oxfordshire home, Kelmscott Manor.
