Women Painting Women explores nearly fifty female artists who choose women as subject matter in their works.

International in scope and spanning the late 1960's to the present, this book recognizes female perspectives that have been underrepresented in the history of postwar fiction.
The women in this presentation range from early trailblazers like,  Emma Amos, Alice Neel, and May Stevens, to emerging artists such as Jordan Casteel, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Jenna Gribbon, and Apolonia Sokol.
